Created for the Love of the Game show in Portland celebrating women in sports!

Portlandia dashes out of abstraction in this homage to the Portland Thorns and Fire (with nods to our Cherry Bombs and Rose City Rollers).

Titled after the Ronald Talney poem dedicated to our Portlandia statue:

She kneels down, and from the quietness of copper reaches out. We take that stillness into ourselves, and somewhere deep in the earth our breath becomes her city. If she could speak this is what she would say: Follow that breath. Home is the journey we make. This is how the world knows where we are.

This piece was painted digitally and printed on 13x19in matte paper.
