Not sure how many of you are art history nerds, but I did a silly Mystique/Matisse crossover (because sometimes I’m entertaining myself). The original can be seen below.
We used to have a print of this in our house growing up...the memory is seared into my brain and just looking at the original brings an onslaught of nostalgia. Add 90s X-Men memories and, well, I couldn’t resist. Still I hope you can appreciate the humor if you aren’t related to me...💙💀
Matisse created his Blue Nude series as paper cutouts during the end of his life. I cant imagine he had X-Acto at the time, so this further demonstrates his un-matchable vision and skill. Can you imagine being that prolific in your 80s? Can barely imagine it now!
